Chase Field

Home to the Arizona Diamondbacks

Chase Field, previously known as Bank One Ballpark, is a landmark baseball stadium located in Phoenix, Arizona with a seating capacity of 48,519. It has a retractable roof to shield fans from the brutal Phoenix summers. Inaugurated on March 31, 1998, Chase Field was the stage for the Arizona Diamondbacks as they defeated the Colorado Rockies in their first game. The naming rights were acquired by JPMorgan Chase & Co. in 2005, though the connection is primarily in name as the ballpark isn't located on bank-owned property. Its sheer size, state-of-the-art facilities, and atmospheric charm make it a bigger attraction than many other sporting venues in the area.

One of the most memorable events at Chase Field was the 2001 World Series. In a thrilling seven-game series, the Arizona Diamondbacks triumphed over the New York Yankees, marking their first World Series title. The stadium's architecture, including its retractable roof and swimming pool, was highlighted during the telecasts, drawing nationwide attention. The pool located behind the outfield wall is one of the stadium's unique features, giving fans a once-in-a-lifetime baseball-viewing experience. In fact, it's the only MLB ballpark in the world with a spot to swim.

Over the years, Chase Field has not just been limited to baseball. It has played host to a range of other events, drawing large crowds. From international basketball games to Supercross events and monster truck shows, the stadium has seen a lot. Big music acts have also graced the stage at Chase Field, with iconic performances by artists like The Rolling Stones, NSYNC, and U2, adding to the venue's rich history. Additionally, the stadium was the setting for the 2011 MLB All-Star Game, showcasing the best of baseball talents.

Chase Field set the backdrop for Kenny Chesney's 2008 concert, which was later released as part of his Live: Live Those Songs Again album. Similarly, the venue witnessed a sold-out performance by Paul McCartney during his Up and Coming Tour, showcasing timeless classics and drawing fans from all generations. In 2023, Chase Field finally saw sold-out crowds when the Arizona Diamondbacks made it to the World Series for the first time since 2001.
