Piestewa Peak Park

Piestewa Peak Park, formerly known as Squaw Peak, is an iconic mountainous area located within the Phoenix Mountains Preserve in Phoenix, Arizona. Covering a large area, the park is crowned by Piestewa Peak, which is 2,610 feet tall. The peak attracts hikers and nature enthusiasts alike. It was renamed in 2003 in honor of Lori Ann Piestewa, the first Native American woman to die in combat while serving with the U.S. military. A sacred site, it has deep roots in the local history and culture, being a testament to the area's Native American heritage and the spirit of the Arizona landscape.

The park's main attraction is the Piestewa Peak Summit Trail, an approximately 1.2-mile trail known for its challenging climb and breathtaking panoramic views.
